Message for Sea Sunday: raise awareness of the working conditions of thousands of seafarers
Vatican City, 12 July 2013 (VIS) – “Sea Sunday” will be celebrated on 14 July and to mark the occasion the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant Peoples has released a message signed by the president of the dicastery, Cardinal Antonio Maria Veglio, and the secretary, Archbishop Joseph Kalathiparambil, published in full here.

Newly Renovated & Expanded Stella Maris International Seafarers’ Center Ribbon Cutting & Dedication Ceremony
On Saturday, October 15, 2011, Archbishop Edwin F. O’Brien presided over the Prayer Service, Ribbon Cutting and Dedication joined by clergy, volunteers, donors, and friends. It was a beautiful day spent with friends of seafarers who enjoyed a catered reception by Trinacria Italian Delicatessen of Baltimore.

Apostleship of the Sea Christmas Shoebox Program 2012
Apostleship of the Sea is once again preparing its Christmas Shoebox Program for the international seafarers who will be in port in Baltimore this coming Christmas. Christmas Shoebox program presents will be due by Sunday December 16. If you belong to a youth, young adult, or senior citizen, or men’s/women’s group and would like your group to prepare Christmas shoeboxes, contact Msgr.
